We are a welcome center for Womyn of Color, Native and Indigenous Womyn. It’s a warm and friendly place to hang out, socialize or find a quiet corner. Here we find support, form discussion groups, offer workshops and networking, as well as planned and spontaneous activities. Within this multicultural atmosphere, we offer the unique opportunity to explore and reclaim our many and varied traditions. On The Patio we invite ALL womyn to come together for conversations, community and additional workshops.

Sober Support  is now called  Recovery Central

For decades, lesbian and queer AA meetings throughout the United States have traditionally been more inclusive in our interpretation of “alcoholic” and “addict”–sometimes radically so.  We believe our new area name, RECOVERY CENTRAL, better embodies our whole community—all 12 step members—not just recovering addicts & alcoholics.

This year we’re going to be open from start to finish

’round the clock 24hr staffing

We’ll  have a Recovery Central 24 Hr. HOTLINE

for anonymous 12-step support by phone, text or meeting

Join Us at Crone’s Crossing!

This year in our new location you will find Crones’ Crossing Area  to be more spacious, with more seating.  We will be set-up with on-going craft activities, and many scheduled workshops.

Hours will be:
Thursday  3-8 pm
Friday  10 am-8pm
Saturday 10 am- 8 pm
Sunday 10 am – 2 pm

This year one of the Crones’  Crossing Projects will benefit  My Sister’s Place, a domestic shelter house in the Athens, Ohio, area.   We’ll be creating single & double layer fleece blankets, for women and their children.   Currently (mid-May), we have fleece for  7 single layer adult blankets and 2 single layer children’s blankets.

Many of us who sew and do craft work know we have cloth stashed here & there, and will find this a great way to make good use of the fleece on our shelves and in our storage tubs.

Once your all packed for the festival- look for those little empty spaces and stuff them with fleece.  Once you’re here and comfortably set ,  bring the fleece to Crones’ Crossing .  We’ll have work spaces and storage spaces for supplies and finished products.

Specifically we can use ordinary fleece in lengths of  1 1/2 yards , and a bit longer,  for single layer adult blankets.    For children, 1 yard to 1 1/2 yards.        For creating double layer blankets  we need to make certain both pieces of fleece  are the exact same length.

These blankets are well known, durable, easy to make, and oh so cozy.   The only skill you need is to tie the fringed edging with single single knots for the single layer blankets, and square knots for double layer blankets.

Croning Celebration Information Gathering

Friday Afternoon 1-2 pm

Lily Beth will be teaching us  about the ceremony in general, and specifically going over this afternoon’s ritual. This workshop/gathering is for all who are interested in general, for those contemplating participating in this afternoons Croning Ceremony/Ritual, and those who may be attending as their support .

The Ceremony will be held Friday 3:30 pm to 5 pm, in the Crones’ Crossing area.  The actual Croning Ceremony is for gals in their mid-fifties or so, who have completed menopause. This event is open to ceremony participants and their support, if desired.    At this time the ceremony can comfortably serve 25 gals. If you are certain you’d like to participate you may email Carol, one of the Crones’ Crossing area coordinators, to have a place held for you. Indeed, if you have any questions or concerns about this celebration, you may email Carol. She will respond promptly.

A light repast will be served from 5 to 6 pm.  This a time for ceremony participants to rest & relax .

Lily Beth is ordained as a full priestess in the Clan of the Stone Circle, a Celtic-Pagan group in Reynoldsburg, and has been a part of the Central Ohio Pagan community for over 20 years.

She is co- owner of the Blessed Be Spiritual Shop, in Grove City, and is fully licensed with the state of Ohio to preform marriages.

Looking forward to September!

Bringing Children to the Festival?

Ohio Lesbian Festival Childcare 2017

The Ohio Lesbian Festival is excited to offer childcare for girls of all ages. For 2017, boys aged 6 and under are allowed on festival grounds. No boys, over 6 years of age, will be allowed in any part of the festival grounds. Boys, age 6 years and under, can be preregistered for childcare or remain with their parent/guardian throughout the festival land during the entire weekend.  We will provide safe, inclusive fun care for all children whose parent(s) or legal guardian(s) purchase tickets prior to the festival. We recognize that pre registration has not been requested in the past but we anticipate a significant increase in the number of children at Festival this year and need to have time to secure adequate supervision for your children. Therefore, children whose parents or guardians purchase tickets at the gate will only receive childcare on a space available basis.
Childcare Registration Form

Workshops and activities will be scheduled and posted so that families/children can plan to attend. We are still working on the schedule. Anyone with fun, child friendly workshop ideas, please contact the childcare coordinators

Childcare will be available:

Thursday         3pm – 7pm
Friday              9am – noon
                         1pm – 4pm
                         5pm – 7pm
Saturday.         9am – noon
                         1pm – 4pm
                         5pm – 7pm
Sunday.           10am – 1pm
                         2pm – 4pm

As you can see, we close for breaks throughout the day. This allows us to rest, clean up and get new volunteers oriented. Breaks also allow families to come together for food, rest and playtime. We will open and close on time and all children need to be picked up on time. Any children who are not picked up on time will be taken to security and the family will lose one childcare slot. Hopefully, this will not need to happen.

Only snacks and water are provided. All meals are not provided. We tend to offer fruit, veggies and crackers for snack. Childcare will be a nut free zone and we request that families not bring any food into the childcare area unless it is pre- approved by the childcare coordinator or designated crew member.

We will ask each family to fill out a brief form which will include allergies. We will provide basic first aid and will have an epi pen to be used in an emergency.

Bug spray, sunscreen and medications
We do not administer bug spray, sunscreen or any medications. Please do this prior to arrival at child care.

Children ages 5 and under are required to remain in the childcare area until they are signed out by an approved adult. Children ages 6 and above may wander with parent or guardian approval and a signed waiver. Wanderers must sign themselves in and out of childcare so that we know which children we are supervising.

Intuitive Archery for Womyn

Whether you’ve never held a bow or already love traditional archery, please join us for an intuitive approach to this tribal, female rite. Workshops and open range time will be ongoing during the entire festival. There will be two sections for archery this year, one for training and the other is the actual archery range. This way women who shot last year can go ahead and shoot while others are learning about safety and how to shoot. New this year will be a “Maiden and Mother” Intuitive Archery workshop on Saturday for girls 9+ and an adult. The Archery Coordinators, Dorrie & Karen, served on the MichFest archery crew with Falcon River and fell in love with this sacred, meditative sport and they are also certified instructors with US Archery.

Circus Environment Area

Breaking News!!!! The Ohio Lesbian Festival is absolutely thrilled to announce a “Circus Environment Area” at this year’s festival! Regina Aka Velocity Charms has been teaching intentional movement for over a decade. She started practicing Yoga at age 14 and has naturally applied her knowledge in an array of movements ranging from Hoop dancing, stilt walking, Sex education and aerial arts. After earning a degree in Physical Therapy Regina began to teach Yoga integrating alignment and anatomy as a root for healing. She believes in the process of practice and sharing knowledge to connect and heal the body, relationships and communities. ❤️
Regina will be creating a movement environment at OLF this year with a Circus focus for not only movement participation but also observation through being a witness of movement and practice. She welcomes everyone to come and learn a new practice, share an already developed practice or witness the practice of others.
In this environment Regina will be offering workshops in stilt walking, beginner juggling, hoop dancing and beginner aerials all with a Yoga warm up and wind down.
-Aerial workshops will max out at 6 students per workshop, so please sign up at the Circus Environment as early as possible.
-Stilt walking workshops will max out at 6 students but if womyn are getting independent on their stilts she may open it up to more womyn. It typically takes a few sessions to be independent. If you are able, please bring friends to help spot you but not necessary. Please wear tennis shoes or preferably boots.
