Mimi Gonzalez is a road-tested, high-octane comedian who takes the audience on a wild ride from the profound to the profane. Bawdy and political, her ferocious idealism of inclusion has been embraced by colleges, Prides, comedy clubs, resorts, festivals, cruises and even battlefields.

Mimi’s answered the call of duty to the U.S. armed forces and made them laugh in Iraq, Afghanistan, Bosnia, Kosovo, Korea, Japan and Guam.

Her television appearances include: LOGO’s “One Night Stand Up,” the “Today” show, Mo Gaffney’s “Women Aloud,” “Ellen,” “Que Loco,” “Funny is Funny,” and “Latino Laugh Festival.” She’s even been a morning-show co-host on New York’s WPYX.

She’s used her Journalism degree to commit random acts of publishing which have included interviewing Camille Paglia for On Our Backs magazine and is a featured monthly columnist in GET-R.I. You can find her on the road, working her walnut farm in Michigan or on Facebook.

“LAUGHING MATTERS,” the award-winning feature film featuring Karen Williams, made Blockbuster Video’s New Releases list a few summers ago. An audience favorite at film fests, this popular comedy-documentary showcases Karen’s star quality while intriguing interviews highlight her social activism.

Karen is known for her quick repartee, insightful commentary, audience rapport, and sheer likeability! She is a comic craftmaster, a gifted actor, a multitalented writer, and an inspirational lecturer, whose HaHA Institute attracts clients from the public and private sectors. Armed with her “healing with humor” philosophy, Karen is a modern-day alchemist and motivational humorist, whose audiences revel in her cathartic laughter and whose peers consider her a comic’s comic!

As a solo entertainer, Karen Williams delights fan-filled audiences from San Francisco to South Beach to Sydney, where she performed twenty shows at the Belvoir Street Theatre during her one month stay in Australia. Karen is a featured comic in “We’re Funny That Way,” the hilarious, internationally-acclaimed film filmed at Buddies in Bad Times in Toronto and shown regularly on HBO; as well as a nominee for the 1999 GLAMA Award for her irreverent comedy CD, “human beings: what a concept” (Uproar Records).

Comedy writer and former television host of the New York variety show, “In The Life,” Karen Williams sharpened her comedy teeth as a ghostwriter at Columbia Pictures. Williams’ humor writings appear in numerous anthologies, including “Joke Stew” (Andrews McMeel 

Publishing); Revolutionary Laughter” (Crossing Press); “Out in All Directions” (Warner Books); and “Out, Loud & Laughing” (Random House).

 Karen Williams graduated summa cum laude from Cleveland State University with a personally-designed major in “Humor and Healing.” She earned a Master of Education degree from CSU’s Adult Learning & Development program. Founder and CEO of the International Institute of Humor and Healing Arts, Karen has successfully branded HaHA Institute as the go-to resource network for educational programs, workshops and seminars focused on the healing power of humor.

Karen Williams, M.Ed, taught Stand-Up Comedy in the Dramatic Arts department of Cleveland State University; studied improv at Second City Chicago; and directed inaugural comedy classes at Second City in Cleveland. Karen continues to perform comedy worldwide and star in television commercials while teaching acting and improvisational comedy at ProModel and Talent Management, training students of all ages to compete at IMTA (International Model and Talent Agency) Conventions in New York and Los Angeles.

The Women Who Rode Away

Edifying and entertaining, Natalia Zukerman’s The Women Who Rode Away seamlessly melds the talents of the songwriter, painter, and storyteller into a moving evening of reflection and perseverance.  Featuring original music and projected paintings by Zukerman, this intimate portrait recounts the artist’s journey of finding her own voice through the stories of the women in her life that paved the way.  The production is directed by Kira Simring and features projection design by Gertjan Houben. 

Musician, painter and educator Natalia Zukerman grew up in New York City, studied art at Oberlin, started her mural business Off The Wall in San Francisco, began her songwriting career in Boston, and now resides, writes, plays, teaches and paints in Brooklyn, NY. Having released seven independent albums on Weasel Records and her own label Talisman Records, Zukerman has toured internationally as a solo performer since 2005. Her music can be heard on the soundtrack of several seasons of The L Word and ABC Family’s Chasing Life. She also created the score for The Arch of Titus, an independent film created for Yeshiva University and a Harvard online course called Poetry in America. Throughout her career as a touring musician, she has accompanied and opened for some of acoustic music’s greats such as Janis Ian, Willy Porter, Susan Werner, Erin McKeown, Shawn Colvin, Ani DiFranco, Richard Thompson, Tom Paxton and many others. Alongside her touring career, Zukerman continues to paint private and public murals as well as illustrate children’s books, design and paint sets for plays in New York City and paint private portrait commissions. In February, 2017, Natalia became a Cultural Diplomat for the US Department of State, playing concerts and conducting workshops with her group The Northern Lights throughout Africa. Natalia teaches private songwriting lessons and has taught at Rocky Mountain Song School, Sisters Song School, Red Rocks Womens Music Festival, Winnipeg Folk Festival, Interlochen Summer Music Program and other festivals and locations throughout the US and in Canada. In May, she was the artist in residence at the cell theatre in New York City where she developed her multimedia one woman show, The Women Who Rode Away and is currently recording the soundtrack of the show and touring it throughout North America.
